Course Details
This course develops Okanagan language proficiency in adult learners. Students will actively participate in an Okanagan immersion class. All instruction and activities take place in the Okanagan language.

    Instructors Qualifications: Relevant Masters Degree.
    Office Hours: 1.5 per week.

    Procedure:
    Assignments 50 - 70%, Final 30 - 50%, Total 100 %. Grading procedures follow NVIT policy.
    Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  • develop listening, understanding and speaking skills relevant to Nsilxcen;
  • recognize and apply future tense of (10) intransitive verbs, (10) transitive verbs, possessives and articles;
  • change in verb tenses;
  • formulate questions;
  • apply adjectives/adverbs, complex sentence structure in all tenses with (10) in/transitive verbs, conjunctions; and
  • apply and use the command form of the verbs.
