STLG-111 - St'at'imcets II - 3.00 Credits

Course Details
St'át'imcets II will build upon the foundation established in St'át'imcets I. Students will continue to learn vocabulary through listening, speaking, and writing. Emphasis will be placed on ensuring accurate listening and pronunciation skills, basic knowledge of grammatical structures, the sound system of St'át'imcets and basic conversational skills.

    Instructors Qualifications: Relevant Masters Degree.
    Office Hours: 1.5 per week.

    Procedure:
    Assignments 50 - 70%, Final 30 - 50%, total 100%. Grading procedures follow NVIT policy.
    Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  • use 100-150 new St'át'imcets words and appropriate phrases;

  • communicate in a variety of everyday situations, including the community life and events of the St’at’imc

  • use Group B of the St'át'imcets alphabet system, that is those that are unique to St'at'imcets, and words associated with them;

  • use Group C of the St'át'imcets alphabet system, that is those that are very unique to St'at'imcets, and words associated with them;

  • pronounce different St'át'imcets sounds;

  • recognize the different St'át'imcets patterns; and
  • correctly express the St'át'imcets phrases learned.
