Course Details
The course offers learners with an opportunity to work with an Indigenous organization/community, under the supervision of their instructor, and engage with an Indigenous community/organization to implement a governance/leadership project. The internship allows learners to actively undertake community-based research, apply learning from the AGLP and explore/apply issue resolution, and ethical leadership practices. The structure and process of this course will require that all learners progress at a similar rate throughout their project. Learners are encouraged to continually expand and challenge their leadership knowledge through the integration and application of learning in their written assignments, community development experiences, and on-line forum contributions to gain further insight on their project and contribute to the learning of other leaders. At the conclusion of this course, learners will present their internship report to their community/organization, in the form/format identified by the learner. The instructor will outline expectations and timelines for learners to successfully complete this course. Learners are responsible for adhering to all guidelines determined by the instructor and the location of the internship placement.
