This course presents a comprehensive view of the theory and research in interpersonal communication, and at the same time, guides students to improve a wide range of interpersonal skills and to apply these to personal, social and workplace relationship. Coverage of cultural diversity, leadership, job skills, ethics and personal productivity and stress management make this course the best choice for students to communicate successfully.

Learning Outcomes:
|
Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to:
- Understand the framework that constitute the area of interpersonal self-development;
- Define the field of interpersonal communication;
- Distinguish between teamwork skills, group problem solving and decision -making skills;
- Examine cross-cultural relations and diversity and difference;
- Understand leadership characteristics—resolving conflicts, motivation, helping others, and positive political skills;
- Examine personal productivity and stress management issues;
- Understand personal job search and career management skills;
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills;
- Develop an education/career plan using best practices; and,
- Discuss ethical issues in interpersonal communication and leadership.
