This course will expose the student to the basics structure and syntax of Nle?kepmx language. Topics include an overview of the Salishan languages with regard to patterns and rules of various components of language. This course will also cover the introductory linguistic components of phonetics, phonology and morphology as it relates to Nle?kepmx language. Including descriptive components of sentence building.

Learning Outcomes:
|
Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of Nłeʔkepmx language basics for sentence structure and patterns;
- describe the Nłeʔkepmx language features of complete sentence structure including increasing vocabulary for describing actions and things;
- demonstrate use of the foundational components of the Nłeʔkepmx language sound rules (phonological structure) and sound characteristics;
- demonstrate use of the critical components of the Nłeʔkepmx language basic affixes (prefixes, suffixes and infixes) that deal with word-formation structures; and
- identify the basic similarities and differences between Nłeʔkepmx language and the neighboring Interior Salish languages dealt within this course.
