Course Details
Skwxwú7mesh Language I is a continuation of the introductory Skwxwú7mesh Language. The student will know an additional 250 high-frequency vocabulary items, will have mastered all but a few of the difficult sounds of the language, and how to use the Skwxwu7mesh writing system. The student will start being comfortable communicating in present, everyday situations using the language.

    Instructors Qualifications: Related Master's and/or Bachelor's degree and/or designate of Language Authority under auspices of instructor of record.
    Office Hours: 1.5 per week.

    Procedure:
    Assignments 50 - 70%, Final 30 - 50%, Total 100 %. Grading procedures follow NVIT policy.
    Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • communicate accurately in a new set of situations;
  • understand and produce most of the most difficult sounds of the language;

  • understand and use the Skwxwú7mesh writing system;
  • express simple ideas/opinions in Skwxwu7mesh; and
  • produce sentences of a variety of new types.
