Vancouver Ceremony - Saturday, May 15, 2021
BCIT Centre for Applied Research and Innovation, Parking Lot B 200-4355 Mathissi Place. Burnaby BC V5G 4S8
NVIT Eagle's Perch Campus, 4155 Belshaw St. Merritt, BC
Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, the 2021 graduation ceremonies will be unique. To keep a limited number of people on-campus, a small amount of staff and faculty will be present to welcome graduates and their families to their own individual and intimate ceremony.
NVIT will take the highest precautions to ensure the health and safety of all those within the NVIT community and we ask that if any graduates or family members experience any COVID-19 symptoms to not attend this graduation ceremony.
I've applied for Grad, when is my payment due?
Your payment must be received by March 31, 2021 to participate on graduation day. Payment can be made in person by debit or credit card or over the phone by VISA or MasterCard or online (https://www.paymytuition.com/paynow/nvit)
What time do I have to be there?
Each graduate will be given a ten (10) minute time slot. Because of the need to have individual ceremonies per graduate, time on-campus will be limited. Once you have applied to graduate, please await your designated time slot from an event planner.
I have applied for Grad but am now unable to attend or I am feeling unwell before the ceremony. Who do I notify?
If you are unable to make Grad or are feeling unwell before the ceremony after you have registered, please email astreet@nvit.ca in order to remove you from the schedule and reimburse your graduation fees.
How many guests can I bring?
Due to COVID-19, we prioritize the health and safety of our learners and employees. Because of this, we ask that you limit your guests to three. This includes children.
What do I wear?
We will have pre-ordered graduation gowns available on campus but graduates may also choose to wear their traditional ceremony attire. If this is your plan, please notify the Events Planner so we can ensure your name is included on the Graduation Program. Only BSW Degree students wear caps with tassels. Cedar headbands will be available to all graduates.
There will be a short window of time to put on gowns, headbands and BSW caps. Please come prepared.
Are there opportunities to have photos taken? Will there be a professional photographer? How much are photographs?
There will be a professional photographer to take ceremony photos and an individual photo. All photos will be released via the NVIT Facebook page following the ceremony.
Is there parking? Do I have to pay for parking?
Parking is free.
