The procession march will begin at the ceremony start time.
Should you require any accessibility accommodations, please email events@nvit.ca.
I've applied for Grad, when is my payment due?
Your payment must be received by March 31, 2024, to participate on graduation day. Payment can be made in person by debit or credit card or over the phone by VISA or MasterCard or online (https://www.paymytuition.com/paynow/nvit).
What time do I have to be there?
Please arrive at the ceremony site at 9:00 AM to pick up graduation gowns. Arriving late might not give you a chance to have your FREE graduation portrait taken.
How many guests can I bring?
Due to venue spacing limitations and fire codes, we ask that you follow the ticket count sent to you via EventBrite. Our staff will scan the tickets as guests come in.
Should you require more tickets, you may reach out to your fellow graduates who may not be able to utilize the tickets sent to them. Use the NVIT Student Events Teams Channel to spark a conversation.
What do I wear?
We will have pre-ordered graduation gowns and caps available on campus, but graduates may also choose to wear their traditional ceremony attire. If this is your plan, please notify Clif Garcia at events@nvit.ca. Cedar headbands will be available to all graduates.
There will be a short window of time to put on gowns, headbands, and caps. Please come prepared.
Are there opportunities to have photos taken? Will there be a professional photographer? How much are photographs?
There will be a professional photographer to take your graduation portrait from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. Be sure to pick up your gowns at 9:00 to avoid long lines. During the ceremony, the professional photographer will take stage photos of each graduate. All photos will be released via the NVIT Facebook page following the ceremony.
Will food be provided?
Yes, food will be provided after the ceremony and class photoshoot. Graduates will receive meal tickets for themselves plus their guests upon check-in.
Is there parking? Do I have to pay for parking?
The Vancouver Ceremony will have two specified parking lots at the location available for the event for FREE. The FREE parking lots are Lot 5 and Lot B (Please see parking lot map). We ask that parking Lot 5 be used for Elders and those needing accessible parking. Please carpool, if possible. All other parking lots at the BCIT campus will be paid parking only.
Parking is FREE for the Merritt Ceremony. We advise carpooling as parking space is limited.
