Indigenous Support Worker Training Micro Credential

Indigenous Support Worker Training Micro Credential

In response to the high need of Health Care
workers and ministry driven funds towards the
labour force/micro-credentials the Indigenous
Support Worker Training is specifically designed
to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and
attitudes necessary to navigate traditional
Western health care practices and how these are
implemented in Community through an Indigenous
lens. The course aims to prepare students to be
valuable support members in Community with the
ability to promote and maintain the physical,
emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of
clients in a non-direct patient care capacity
under the supervision of a health professional.
Upon completion of the course, students will be
equipped to serve as valuable support members to
healthcare teams.
