$1000 x 2
The FPSE Local 19–NVIT Entrance Scholarship is intended to support incoming Indigenous learners registered in minimum 80% course loads, at either NVIT campus, who achieved a minimum 2.67 grade point average and who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to programs that align with the values of the labour movement. This award recognizes students who demonstrate an understanding of collective responsibility, advocacy, and fairness—principles that are foundational to unions and essential to fostering strong educational environments and equitable workplaces.
The FPSE Local 19-NVITEA Entrance Scholarship will be disbursed to two (2) students for $1000 each; one student from the Merritt campus and one from the Vancouver campus, at the annual awards ceremony.
The NVIT Registration Office must receive applications by 4:30pm on August 15, 2026. If August 15th lands on a weekend, the application will be due the last business day before the deadline. Please email a copy to awards@nvit.ca or drop off the original copy at the front desk of either campus; faxes and/or photocopies will not be accepted. Reference letters must also be submitted through email to awards@nvit.ca.
